Obviously one thing that attracted me to this book is the name - mine. :) But it was honestly a really good read. I rated it a 4 to 4.5. The story is actually told in two parts: Sarah's and Julia Jarmonds. Julis is an American journalist writing for a Paris-based American magazine when she is asked to write an article about the day of the Vel' d'Hiv' roundup in July of 1942. Through her investigation into this day she comes to realize how little she knows about it and discovers a connection between her husband's family and Sarah. This is the first book I have read by Tatian aDe Rosnay and I enjoyed it. It is a quick, easy read, and while fiction, the elements regarding the roundup (after having done some searching) are true.
On to other things. Right now, its snow/freezing rain. Nice night to stay inside with a good book. Currently I am reading The Emperor's Children. Only about 100 pages into it, but its okay. We shall see if it gets better. I did finish making pillowcases for the boys body pillows, have to get those finished up tomorrow. Also will be making more cookies since the ones Joe and I made on Thursday are gone. And I am FINISHED Christmas shopping. Finished up today with a quick trip to the music store for both boys. Ok, well Ashley is not done, but she can wait till she comes home next month.
As for my quilting projects, would really like to get Mary's quilt finished, and then one of my MANY other projects. I would also like to pick up some jelly rolls for some strip patterns that I would like to do. Up next is going to be to finish "Piecing the Trail To Kansas". Its only about 4 years old, time to finish it!
