That Kabul Beauty School one sounds interesting to me, too, since I went to beauty school after high school. Thanks for reminding me that I should read more.Hollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07867112701783092241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3842373966881135753.post-80051689059377250202009-01-11T16:35:00.000-05:002009-01-11T16:35:00.000-05:00I thought I commented already...must have been in ...I thought I commented already...must have been in my mind! oops..you can't read those!

I also liked Life of Pi! I devoured the entire Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. A true guilty pleasure! My husband and I had watched the HBO series "True Blood" which was based on the first book. There's just nothing like Vampires in Louisiana (where my husband is from) to keep you turning the pages.

I read Life of Pi a few years ago and really enjoyed it, though for such a good book, it sure started slowly. I read it with a friend and we couldn't agree on whether his experience was all a fantasy or not. I held out for "there was too really a tiger!" for a long time. What do you think?

Susan in Texas
http://www.susanintexas.blogspot.comSusan In Texashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09165885066527557584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3842373966881135753.post-6687948214078314772009-01-09T13:58:00.000-05:002009-01-09T13:58:00.000-05:00LOL, I think I haven't finished my best 2008 book ...LOL, I think I haven't finished my best 2008 book yet :-)

I started to read "Half of a Yellow Sun" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie just after Christmas, and even though I'm only half way through it yet, I think this will most likely be one of the best book I've read during the past few years!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3842373966881135753.post-7710802689941601122009-01-09T12:01:00.000-05:002009-01-09T12:01:00.000-05:00I'm reading 'Confederacy of Dunces' from the list ...I'm reading 'Confederacy of Dunces' from the list of 100 you posted awhile back...an ok read.Zegihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11793341862461716411noreply@blogger.com
